About us
LTA was established in May 1999, and is the National Chapter of Transparency International (TI).

In its efforts to curb corruption and promote transparency in Lebanon, LTA is pursuing initiatives along the following 4 main programs:

The four programs function in coordination with LTA's grassroots, and research and training departments.

The LTA Approach

  • Raising citizens' awareness about their rights, and corruption, its causes, consequences and costs at all levels within society.
  • Building coalitions with similar organizations at the grassroots, national, regional, and international levels, including public or private institutions committed to combating corruption.
  • Drafting or amending Lebanese legislation related to transparency, accountability, and corruption.
  • Considering the media as a cornerstone in the fight against corruption, and working closely with the media towards promoting transparency and strengthening integrity, and encouraging media institutions to exercise investigative reporting and unveil the truths about corruption.
  • Empowering Lebanese youth to reject corruption and encourage them to participate in civic life by abiding by principles of transparency and accountability.
